European projects

The Port of Seville is one of the main nodes in the Core Network of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). It is part of the Mediterranean corridor and the navigable channel of the Guadalquivir has been proposed for the Atlantic corridor given the importance of navigable inland rivers in Europe.

The Core Network consists of those elements of the general network which have the highest strategic importance to achieve the objectives of the European Union’s transport policy and they have the highest priority for actions taken using community support. In this sense, the Port Authority of Seville is a beneficiary of European funds and has promoted a series of initiatives and projects to improve navigation on the Guadalquivir Euroway (E-60-02), its multi-modal character, management of the railway traffic and innovation in logistics and industrial matters.
