The promotion of the Guadalquivir estuary and the quest for environmental excellence are fundamental objectives of the sustainability strategy of Seville’s Port Authority . This strategy is founded on an innovative approach of Working with Nature, which means much more than reducing the environmental impact of a project. This way of thinking consists of looking for and identifying how a project can achieve its goals and using natural processes to protect, restore and even improve the environment.
The Port Authority has been working with the universities of Seville and Huelva, Cadiz, Malaga and the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas to expand our knowledge of the natural environment and propose solutions for the management of the estuary as part of a framework of environmental sustainability.
